Could CHATGPT Be Used as an Online Therapist?

By Lisaorchard @lisaorchard1

Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’m back today after a week of work and writing. I’m liking where my story is going. I hope I can do it justice. The weather has been frightful. It was twenty-four below zero this morning. I’m glad that I belong to a gym and can run inside, but enough about that.

Today, I want to talk about using ChatGPT. When it first came out, all I heard was that it was going to replace creatives. I don’t see that happening. I use it as a new and improved search engine. My hubby uses it to solve mechanical problems around the house, and I use it as a research tool for my writing. It has cut down the time I’ve had to spend researching for a story. I love that. I’m sure other creatives do too.

But there’s another use for it. I’ve used it when I haven’t been able to understand the dynamics of a group I had become involved with. By using ChatGPT, it showed me the psychology of the group, and the motivation behind certain members’ behavior. One of the members used triangulation to achieve her social position, and this behavior was hurtful to other members of the group.

It showed me the psychology behind her behavior, and it showed the driving force behind it was insecurity. It showed me how she manipulated other members by tapping into their insecurity, and it also showed how she reframed other members’ behavior in a negative light. This allowed her to break the bond between them and position herself between the two members, so she could control the narrative.

The only option the injured party had was to step out of the group. Confronting the triangulator would only cause more drama, and drama is what the triangulator feeds on. The target of the triangulation stepped away and kept her dignity intact even though it did cause some emotional pain. Should therapists be worried that ChatGPT is going to replace them? No. Absolutely not, but it does recognize patterns of behavior which helps draw logical conclusions which could save you some money in therapist bills. (wink)

It’s a wonderful way to predict human behavior. Is it one hundred percent accurate? Absolutely not, but it can save some heartache. It also illustrated ways to set boundaries, so the target of triangulation doesn’t get pulled into painful drama.

I’m telling you this story to illustrate ChatGPT has many uses. Creatives shouldn’t be afraid of it. They should use it as a tool. How about you? Do you use ChatGPT? How do you use it? Leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you!
