I love a challenge. Especially when it involves getting to the bottom of fad diets/cleanses. So when I was contacted by the lovely Katie from Katie’s Clean9 about trying out the Clean9 Detox programme, I was immediately hooked. I’d heard a lot about this miracle 9 day diet/detox/cleanse that helped you lose approx. 12 pounds in the 9 days you take part. Before agreeing, as I am a serial Googler, I did some research online about the Clean9 Detox and didn’t really find that much out about it to be honest - there were a lot of reviews that appeared to be sponsored posts or written by sellers of the product. I decided that I would give it a shot and write a warts & all review at the end for anyone who wanted honest advice before they bought it!
WHAT IS THE CLEAN9 DETOX?
Clean9 is a nine day nutritional cleansing that includes drinking aloe vera gel, protein shakes, taking garcinia plus & bee pollen tablets and maintaining a healthy diet to help you lose weight (up to 12 pounds!) and/or inches rapidly. Forever Clean 9 is designed to help you cleanse your body of all toxins and unnatural chemicals that have built up. It also claims to help you keep the weight off unlike other fad diets by boosting metabolism, a lot come with a 60 day refund.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?
Drink a LOT of aloe vera gel. Measure and weigh yourself on day 1, 3, 5 and 9 to keep track of any changes in your body. Taking a before and after photo is also advised!
Day 1-2 are food free, you drink the aloe vera gel, take the garcinia, bee pollen & forever ultra protein shake. 20 mins exercise (minimum!) is also prescribed each day. Day 3-9 you are allowed to also eat 600 calories worth of food on top of the aloe etc.
You can drink as much water as you like, as well as caffeine free herbal teas.
TIPS BEFORE YOU TRY IT
Aloe Vera Gel. The most disgusting thing I’ve ever drank… be prepared. However the more you drink it the easier it is, the urge to vomit decreases every time don’t worry!
If you’re a heavy coffee drinker – try to wean yourself off caffeine in the few days before you try it. The withdrawals will give you headaches!
Think about what upcoming events you have before you start the cleanse, personally if I had a wedding in the middle there is no way I wouldn’t cheat.
Try to start the cleanse on a non-working day, as you may feel slightly light-headed so it would be nice to be able to lie down if you feel like it!
Bin any tempting food from the house. If you have to leave the house to cheat, you’re less likely to do it.
Let people know so they can encourage you when you feel like sneaking a chocolate eclair.
Decide why you want to do the cleanse, to lose weight quickly for an event or to keep it off for good? Exercise and proper diet are the only ways to keep weight off definitely, but this is a great kickstart to a healthier diet and will definitely encourage you to keep going.
