I'm calling this "The Cheek Edit" because this is something I'm not normally into. I'm not a huge cream blush fan or anything other than a powder that can be blended with with a blush brush (simplicity is key for me!) but I was sent a couple of the Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balms to try and I thought I would give my thoughts on them.
The two shades that I was sent were Robust Rhubarb (props to Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup for this one! Also just to note I have never said 'props to' in my life. I feel a little bit cool saying it) and Roly Poly Rosy.
Robust Rhubarb is a coral type color. For some reason Corals just don't do it for me but I was intrigued to try it because Anna from VDM said this was a stunning cheek color. As always, she was right! I really like it and the finish I get from it is really pretty. Obviously, this is quite buildable so I tend to sit on the safety blanket of a slight tint when using this.
Roly Poly Rosy is just perfect for Autumn/Winter. The shade is like a raspberry color and it really adds a hint of winter glow to your cheeks - think Kate Winslet in 'The Holiday' and you won't be far off with this shade. I love this with a plum lip and light eye makeup. Definitely a firm favorite of mines.
In terms of blending, I do find this easy to apply - I just use my fingers to pat it into the skin and try my best not to 'wipe' the product because by doing that you will undoubtedly ruin your foundation (hence my love hate relationship with cream blush!).
At £18 these are a tad pricey but they will definitely last you a long time. A little goes a long way and because it is like a chubby pencil and you don't need a brush, this is perfect handbag size and ideal for traveling.
Have you tried any of these? or have you tried a similar product? I would love to read your thoughts so leave me a comment below telling me what you think :)
