God has a burden (love) for lost people. That's why He sent His only begotten Son into the world. Jesus Christ's death on the Cross is a demonstration of how much God loves people.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8
It is God's love "poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit " that should cause Christians to want to reach the lost with the good news (Gospel) that they can be saved by grace through faith in Christ.
Pakistan - Source of Light
GraceLife is currently involved in supporting multiple ministries in Pakistan. You can read about the first ministry we highlighted here and the second ministry here [LINK]. The third ministry is Source of Light.
My parents worked with Source of Light for more than 30 years. They volunteered for many years, then spent 15 years as full-time missionaries at SLM's international headquarters. My family and I visited them during those years and saw the great work SLM does through printing and distributing Bible correspondence courses in many languages around the world.
As we have mentioned in previous parts of this series, Pakistan is a Muslim country with an estimated population of about 221 million people. Between 95-98% of the population are Muslim. Christians make up less than 2% of the total population and are almost evenly split between Catholics and Protestants. Pakistan is definitely a mission field in the 10/40 Window.
Source of Light in Pakistan ministers to Muslims, Hindus and other communities in many villages across the country. The ministry has many needs at this time, including printing a booklet titled Who Is Jesus Christ. SLM Pakistan's goal is to print 200-thousand copies of the booklet for personal distribution over a period of 12 months. The booklets will be printed monthly (16,667 booklets per month) at a cost of about $2,000 per month. That's an annual cost of $24,000.
SLM also has a school and orphanage in Pakistan. They are currently raising funds for Christmas presents for the children. Please pray for the children and those who are serving their needs for home and school.
Other needs include motorcycles to send pastors and missionaries to the villages, monthly support for pastors, and printing of other SLM material for adults and children.
You can donate directly to SLM Pakistan on this website. Though the location and name of the director of the ministry are not revealed for security reasons, I have spoken with the director and members of the SLM team who take Gospel literature to the villages.
