The Best Sunscreens for Under ₱500

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

Applying sunscreen every day has a lot of benefits especially when you live in a tropical country like the Philippines. It prevents dark spots and premature aging amongst others. However, they can be quite pricey for a product you will be using a lot. So below are the best sunscreens under P500 that I used.

If some brands you're looking for are not here, it's either I haven't used them yet or I already posted them before like the cult-fave Biore.

⚠️ SALE ALERT ⚠️

But first, there is a LAZADA 3.27 Bonggang BDAY Sale from March 20 to 27, 2024. All products mentioned in this list are available in Lazada. You can use LAZZIE500 to get a 15% discount (min. Spend: ₱750 and max. Cap: ₱500)

The Best Sunscreens for Under ₱500 for all Skin Types

For Face & Body: QUICKFX Vita Sunscreen

QuickFX is one of my go-to brands for affordable skincare that is good for acne-prone and sensitive skin. It helped me get rid of the acne breakout I got during the pandemic lockdown. Recently, they launched a new product, the Vita Sunscreen for Face and Body. It has SPF50 PA+++ and Vitamins C and E. Their claims that it is non-sticky, hydrating, and fast absorbing are true. The only downside is it looks a little ashy on a morena's skin. I don't mind it on the body, but looks a little awkward on the face. But if you're going to apply makeup, it doesn't matter anyway. Makeup can easily correct it.

This cost ₱499 in Watsons Lazada page.

For Oily Skin: Hello Glow Ultralight Matte Sunscreen

This is one of the products that I received as a PR gift first and purchased with my own money after. The Hellow Glow Ultra Matte Sunscreen has SPF 30 PA+++ which is enough for everyday use. It contains Cica, 4% Niacinamide, and Ceramides. It also has a matte finish but doesn't feel dry on the skin. The sachet packaging with a screw cap is great for traveling or keeping it in your bag for reapplying. I honestly don't see any cons with this sunscreen, even the soapy scent doesn't bother me.

For Normal to Dry Skin: Hello Glow 3-in-1 Lightweight Sun Care Gel

I bought this because the Ultra Matte variant was not available in all of Watson's stores near me last January. And I needed one ASAP because I am going to a concert in an open stadium, and I have a soundcheck pass at 3 PM under the Philippine sun. So I opt for this Hello Glow 3-in-1 Lightweight Sun Care Gel. Even though I have oily skin, it doesn't feel greasy on my skin. It's very lightweight, comfy, and works well under makeup. I even applied this to my body and reapplied it several times a day on both my face and body with no problem. The only con I find is it has a floral scent, a little stronger scent than the Ultra Matte.

For Sensitive Skin: Luxe Organix Aqua Daily Sunscreen

Found this Luxe Organix Aqua Daily Sunscreen when I was looking for sunscreen suitable for sensitive skin because I was breaking out at the time. I chose this because it has a generic skincare scent, and contains Aloe Vera, Centella Asiatica, and Calendula Extracts. The three ingredients are always present in the products that have helped me with my acne breakouts. I was expecting this to be greasy but it is surprisingly quick-absorbing and has non-greasy formula. The best part is no white cast!

For Acne-Prone Skin: Oxecure Daily Sunscreen

They reformulated this product. It doesn't have a white cast anymore, applies smoother, and more importantly, it doesn't clog pores which is important for those with acne-prone skin. It has a generic skincare scent as well, so this is suitable for all skin types, not just those with acne.

That's it. These are the best sunscreens for under P500 for 2024.
