So,the wish had finally come true. Indiblogger in association with Berger Paints finally organized an Indimeet in years in the city of joy. Naturally, I kept re-reading the email out of excitement when it first came to me.I cannot thank Indiblogger enough for organizing this meet on 12th September, Saturday. The whole team gave amazing effort to make this event a successful one and I must say that everything was arranged so wonderfully, from the themed decor in pink-white and purple, the photo booth, the goodie bags to the food counter, everything was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening with my fellow bloggers from Kolkata!
The event started at the Oberoi Grande with registration at 4 pm where we had to log in and then wear badges where our twitter handle was written. We also got free wifi! After the informal “hi-s” and “hello-s” we posed for pictures in the photo booth and enjoyed chatting with fellow bloggers over a cup of steaming hot coffee accompanied with delicious cookies and kebabs. About an hour later, we got into our respective seats and the program started formally. There were three giant screens, two of which displayed live twitter feeds.
After a brief introduction session from bloggers and the “best photography” awards, we got to see a small presentation from Berger Paints about their innovative technology in painting where they claim to provide dust free painting by using advanced coloring tools to paint. We got to know about the benefits and usage of sanding machine, airless paint sprayer, multi-purpose mixer, auto roller and high- pressure washer for a hassle free express painting from Berger.
Next we moved on to the group activity part, all the bloggers were supposed to form a team of eight but unfortunately, we had seven members only. Each team had to do two activities, one was sanding, where all the members had to rub an uneven surface with a sandpaper and make the area smooth. We took the lowest time for the activity, 16 seconds only. The next part was painting for a social cause and talking about it. We chose dowry as the topic and did that activity pretty well too.
After a short break, the winner team was announced and prizes for different activities was given. Luckily, I bagged the “Social Media Kingpin” award. I won a Microsoft power bank. Then we all headed for the sumptuous dinner and collected our goodie bags before saying goodbye and leaving for the day.
The memories from the day will remain fresh in my mind forever. It was wonderful meeting so many talented bloggers from the city. I hope Indiblogger will come up with more Indimeets in Kolkata soon.
