The Benefits of Dry Skin Brushing
As the skin is the largest organ in the body and plays such a huge role in day to day life, it's really important to look after it. As we all probably know, it's really important to exfoliate weekly and moisturise on a daily basis to keep our skin in good condition. Along with such a basic thing as drinking plenty of water daily, our skin will receive huge benefits from this. Something you may not know though, is how beneficial dry skin brushing can be. Since doing my qualification in Spa Therapy, I have learnt so much about the skin so of course I want to share that with all of you. The Benefits of Dry Skin Brushing

A skin brush is a natural bristled brush, usually with a long handle although some can be hand held. It's a dry form of exfoliation which can be done twice daily, as opposed to once weekly with a normal exfoliator. To dry skin brush you simply brush multiple times over the skin in the direction towards your heart. It's such a simple approach to achieving healthier skin and I was amazed to find out the benefits.~ It helps to remove dead skin cells, which helps to improve the skins texture and also increases cell renewal.

~ It increases the circulation of blood to the skin, encouraging your body to drain toxins and waste products, as well as help to reduce water retention. This will benefit the body as when waste products are removed, it is able to run more efficiently in all areas. It also helps to tighten the skin due to increased blood flow.
~ It helps with muscle tone by  evening out the distribution of fat deposits. This also helps to break down the fatty deposits that cause cellulite to build up. So be sure to give areas such as your thighs and bum cheeks a good brush.
~ It rejuvenates the nervous system as it stimulates the nerve endings in the skin.
~ It helps your skin to absorb plenty of nutrients by unblocking pores. Healthy, breathing skin helps greatly when it comes to overall body health.
~ It is also kind to sensitive skin as you don't need to use any products. It has amazing benefits without the use of products or any nasty chemical procedures. It could also save you a fortune as you don't have to buy an exfoliator all the time.
~ I tend to skin brush at night, before I have a shower or bath. I only do it once a day, but if you have bigger concerns and want to see results quicker, then it's completely fine to skin brush twice daily. Just remember to go in the direction of your heart to drain and get everything flowing efficiently.
