* The 3rd Times a Charm [cabin Time w/ the Lares!]

Aaron and I were back at the cabin for a THIRD weekend in a row!

This time was different though, different in so many ways! First of all, it was an unplanned and impromptu get away. An unplanned and impromptu with a family 4 as our guests- AND it was a family that Aaron had never ever met!

That's right... (with the SHOCKING suggestion of Aaron) we invited along my blogger friend (my best blogging buddy) "Dawn Farmington" and her husband Adam and their two sweet as pie daughters; Alexa & Lillian.

Dawn and I both turned 31 this year (her birthday was May 28th) and since we have become pretty close and consider ourselves REAL friends (no longer just imaginary/blog friends) we wanted to do something fun together to celebrate our birthdays. We had planned on a "Birthday Date" shopping in the sunshine along the main streets of either Stillwater, MN or Hudson, WI but... with rain in the forecast- we decided to skip it all and head to the lake!!!!
Dawn did a wonderful job recapping our short trip HERE (i died laughing at EVERYTHING she wrote about!) and seeing that she wrote 31 memorable moments for her- I am going to go along with listing out 31 things that I learned about Miss Dawn Farmington (and her family) in our fun little, just under, 24 hour adventure at the lake!

1. The Lares are NOT serial killers in any way- confirmed via text as we were all driving up to the cabin.
2. Dawn CLAIMS that she is not creative at all- but I beg to differ.
3. She grew up in a small town called Elbow Lake & grow up spend a ton of time at Eagle Lake.
4. speaking of eagles, Dawn LOVES eagles- just have one fly above her and you will see for yourself! 
5. Dawn is an outdoors girl who LOVES the lake and everything about it, this includes FISHING! 
6. She will catch a frog, for bait, but NEVER a toad- because "that's gross!" (are you kidding me... anything frog like is just plain nasty & SICK....) we almost CAN'T be friends because of this one!
7. Dawn talks with her hands, a lot! (probably b/c she is half mexican, half small towner, half ex-DJ and yes 3 halves = 100%)
8. Dawn isn't afraid to poop in public- BAHHHHHH hahah KIDDING! (see her #8 favorite memory in her post- this will make more sense)
9. 'dawn farmington' has ALSO been known as 'dawn davis' she was/is BIG TIME and rarely says the word "um" (aaron pointed that one out, know notices that kind of stuff anyway! haha)
10. Alexa, Dawn & Adam's oldest, has the most contagious and most adorable kid laugh EVER! It makes me smile just thinking about it, we love how much of a goofball she is!
11. Lilli, their youngest, is so smiley and sweet but at the same time a real spit fire, which Aaron and I adore!
12. Dawn & I are dyslexic (31...13... same dif!)
13. Dawn has THREE brothers!
14. Dawn loves wine (as do i).
15. Referring back to #2 above, Dawn is creative if she just puts her mind to it!
16. Dawn and her hubby are best friends and been together forever- Aaron and I are best friends & we too have been together forever, we are a good match!
17. Dawn does like to and ACTUALLY can bake! BUT not to be confused with cooking.
18. We both realized that we want small tattoos, now we just need to convince the hubbies to let us get them!
19. Dawn does not like it when her hubby cracks his knuckles!! (i FEEL HER PAIN!!!! UGH)
20. Like me (as aaron would say) Adam claims that Dawn also "really likes to do laundry" but (again according to the husbands) we never seem to actually do the laundry, fold it OR put it away! funny... our husbands think they are HILARIOUS!
21. Dawn takes a lot of pictures (well this wasn't new to me- but it was FUN seeing that she takes just as many pictures as i do with her phone!)
22. Dawn and I are basically twins and we act very stupid and sisterly when together!
23. Dawn and Adam are truly in sync with one another and are two WONDERFUL parents that have done so well with their girls, Alexa (aka "buttload") and Lillian (aka "smiley pies") are the sweetest & most well behaved, fun loving little girls!
24. Unlike Dawn, Adam is so NOT an outdoors man but we still kind of like him! ;)
25. Dawn is a runner! So much that after the first mile, Dawn says that she could "just run forever!"
26. Dawn is a good stretcher with great balance- Aaron & her talked about her knee pain & he showed her a new IT band stretch. I am hoping this helps, I want her to RUN FOREVER!
27. Dawn is always the navigator in the car but maybe not always GOOD at it... one way roads are meant for driving only ONE WAY on! 
28. Dawn is not a movie buff... we passed the test with Adam of knowing a Dazed & Confused song (that was playing on the stereo) without even giving it a thought. SCORE!
29. Dawn is not an athlete- as in golf, running, dance & softball do not count as a sport in our husbands books. UGH AS IF!
30. Dawn falls for puppy eyes and spoiling is the name of her game!! As far as Avrie is concerned, Dawn's name is "dawn popcorn" 
31. Last but certainly not least Adam and Dawn KNOW and have spent time with the one and only Mr. Cool... TROY SONNEK!!!! Troy has even spent the night at their house! (such a small world!)

We seriously packed SO much fun into a short, last minute, change of plans, visit! I love that Aaron was able to FINALLY meet 'dawn farmington'. Dawn and I may have only just met last summer, and by way of blogging, but when you meet someone new & feel like you have been friends FOREVER- you just go with it!

Despite the distance between us, we are all looking forward to more fun times spent together as a family! Adam already thinks he can get me to like beans (real beans) and he THINKS he will get me to cuss- we shall see.... but poundsignprobablyNOT.

Thank you Dawn, Adam, Alexa & Lillian for being such fun cabin/lake guests! We hope to have you back to the place that we love so much. It's always a place to gather where good times are spent with great people!

Saturday night (Sunday morning @ 2am) we called it a night. I was EXHAUSTED literally, from laughing SO MUCH! On Sunday after a little bit of sleeping in, some breakfast & a quick little boat ride AND a group photo by the lake, The Lares family headed for home.

Aaron and I finished packing up & ate lunch. We also made sure that 'monster Avrie' had a fully belly too! On the boat ride she was just done, wanted to go "back to the cabin" and find Kangy.... She is really starting to act her age almost TWO! The last couple of days have been crazy, she's is wild, sassy and just acting up! She always has been a sweet little girl, but when she wants something she wants it NOW and there is no telling her NO. So... we are working on that! Anywhoooo Aaron, Avrie and I left the cabin about 2pm. And wouldn't you know it, the sun seemed like it was out to stay, but it was still a tad chilly. So we said "Bye Cabin!" and headed for home!
