Tesco Finest Party Food Review

By Tejal Hewitt @Tejal_x

As a proud member of The Orchard At Tesco, I was privileged to try some of the Tesco Finest party food. I picked the following four items for 2 reasons. They only had these four which were suitable for a vegetarian and they looked nice – great presentation. All in all – I would strongly recommend trying the Tesco FInest range as I will buy these, on those special occasions as they are little pricey but definitely worth it for the flavours.

The first was the Tesco Finest Caramelised Red Onion & Herb Camembert with Sharing Bread

Then the Tesco Finest 9 Brie & Cranberry Parcels

The Tesco Finest 9 Mushroom & Rarebit Tartlets

Lastly was the Tesco Finest 12 Creamy Cheese Canape Selection, which had 3 different cheese selection. Breaded Camembert wedges in breadcrumbs, Wenslydale & Cranberry bites in an oat and herb crumb and Goats cheese and onion confit parcels in poppy seed pastry. Out of the 4, I would probably say these came in last, however I thought they were delicious, great flavor specially if you are a cheese lover like me. In terms of price, these are more expensive than the usual Tesco party food but they definitely do compensate in flavor and taste. I would give them an overall 8/10 and the Goat cheese being my favourate one. #Triedforless

The Tesco Finest 9 Brie & Cranberry Parcels – Rich creamy brie with cranberry sauce in beautifully presented filo pastry  parcels. They were light and crisp, deep filled with melted brie and a cranberry jelly, which had the perfect amount of brie and cranberry. The filo pastry wrapped up like a sack gave it a great crisp texture and bite. Now I would say i have a big mouth, but perfect mouthful size. My husband and his friend Jon thought they were really nice – and would definitely have them again. Overall I would give them a 8/10 but may guests would have given them 9/10 #Triedforless

Now to my favourite, Tesco Finest Handwrapped 9 Mushroom & Rarebit Tartets – now the pack says ‘ With a wonderfully rich, earthy mushroom filling and a creamy Barbers vintage farmhouse cheddar and dorset ale rarebit topping in a crisp filo pastry’ – this description was down to a T! I thought these little gems of flavor were amazing – truly amazing. Now if you like mushrooms and cheese then I can’t imagine anyone not liking them. The cheddar cheese gave the mushroom an intense flavor combination. I would give them 10/10 – not very often I can that – but the tarlets were faultless #Triedforless

The Tesco Finest Caramelised red onion & herb Camembert sharing bread was delicious. The bread was hintly flavoured with caramelised red onion, balsamic vinegar and roasted garlic, with a baked Camembert. The combination was perfect, with flavours that were not over powering but perfectly hint of. This was my 2nd best out of all of the 4 party foods. My only negative is that the Camembert needed more than the 12-14 minutes stated on the directions, I ended up baking the cheese for an extra 5-8 minutes for the Camembert to melt completely. My verdict would be a strong 9/10 of which would have been a perfect 10/10 if the cooking instructions were correct. #Trieditfree
