TellTale Games Would Love to Make a James Bond Title
Posted on the 07 January 2014 by Sameo452005 @iSamKuliiTellTale Games would love to take on James Bond, showing a stealthier, more espionage-focused side of the super spy than most games to date.
Telltale co-founder Kevin Bruner told OXM that Ian Fleming’s famous franchise would be his first pick if money were no object.
“I’m a giant James Bond fan and I’m always frustrated by games that make him a mass murderer,” he said.
“He’s a super-spy, and that’s a different skillset. The films make him less of a mass murderer, and there’s not much killing in the books – more spying and intrigue.”
CEO Dan Connors said that although licensing has been vital to TellTale’s success, the idea of creating an original IP has become “more and more attractive” – especially if it could kick off a transmedia franchise.
“I think we’re looking more at ‘Can we engage some great storytelling mind to come in and work with us on something and make it not just a game franchise, but a full-on entertainment franchise with comics or a TV show and such and build it all together at once?’ We really see that as the next thing that’s gonna happen,” he said.
Telltale is still neck deep in developing The Walking Dead Season 2, The Wolf Among Us, and also Game of Thrones and Borderlands titles.
