Yeah, yeah. I am just getting around to reading this book.
I am not usually into the finding yourself style of books, and so I never bothered about the hype on this one. But after admiring Elizabeth Gilbert’s writing in The Signature of all Things, I decided I need to give this one a try, and so far in (just finished the eat section in Italy, and feeling very hungry ), it’s pretty good, if a little repetitive.
I am digging it in spite of the somewhat bombastic language and the overdose of self-awareness and the peppering of inspirational quotes throughout.
However, I did find the below sentence rang very true.
The only thing more unthinkable than leaving was staying; the only thing more impossible than staying was leaving.
It’s very difficult to get out of a difficult situation, I think.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
