Teaching Notes: On That Simple?

Teaching Notes are Bible studies we taught before GraceLife Ministries began publishing articles online in 1995. Some were presented as sermons, others as group studies.

Our hope is that these older studies will be a blessing to you in your life and ministry. Please use them in any way God leads you.

These teaching notes are part of a study about eternal life.

[These notes are from a Bible study taught more than 40 years ago. The notes are in outline form.]

Question #1 – Do you know that you were to die today, your soul would go to Heaven?

Question #2 – If you were to die today and stand before God in Heaven and He asked you why He should you let you into His Heaven, what would you say?

A. Grace

1. Eternal life is a free gift (Romans 5:15-21)
2. Eternal life is not earned nor deserved (Ephesians 2:4-10)

B. Man

1. Every man is a sinner (Romans 3:10-23)
2. Every man is unable to save himself (Ephesians 2:8-9)

C. God

1. God is merciful (Romans 9:15-16; 11:31-32)
2. God is just (Romans 9:13-14)

D. Jesus Christ

1. He is God (Matthew 28:18-20; John 1:1-14; Colossians 1:12-20)
2. He died for our sins (Romans 5:6-8)

E. Faith

1. It is not intellectual belief alone (John 4:41-42; 6:68-69; Romans 1:15-16)
2. It is eternal trust (John 3:14-16; Acts 13:47-49; 1 John 5:12-13)
