Tasting Tucson {Thunder Canyon Brewery}

By Thedreamery

IMG_6586Thunder Canyon Brewery has just recently opened in downtown Tucson, and already I’ve been there twice. Clearly a good sign! I love any place that serves up local fresh ingredients in light and comforting ways, alongside a in-house brewed beer, all while watching your favorite sports game. No that’s what I call my kind of hangout spot. TCB prides itself on offering a variety of gourmet style pubfare. Whether it’s to watch the hockey game, an anniversary or celebrating a birthday with the family, Thunder Canyon Brewery is one to consider!

I recommend my favorite the Deep Canyon Ale, a flavor combination much that of a Yuengling/Blue Moon/Apricot Ale, if you’re looking for a beer to end your meal on a sweet note I’d go with Bees N’ Berry

I’ve gained a new found appreciation for a good glass of beer after a summer spent in beer gardens, so it’s great to be out west  where the use of local ingredients is important and makes a whole lot of a difference, especially when it comes to the flavor of an ale

Brew House Pretzels that reminded me of summer days working in Philadelphia paired with a Jalapeno Cheese Dip, that needs just a tad bit more fire for our spicy tastebuds. This would be a great accompaniment with a sampling of TCB’s top brews.

You can’t go wrong with a Buenodilla…a gooey melody of cheddar, mozzarella and green chiles. Move over grilled cheese, this is the ultimate comfort food Mexican style

These crispy, yet light Marana Mushrooms are one of our favorite options on the menu, especially since we learned the key to making the spicy “pale ale” batter pop is dipping these guilty pleasures in their house beer mustard {typically served with TCB’s pretzels}

Now I can’t really say how the Catalina Fingers taste but they’re one of TCB’s popular menu options..these come a long way from the chicken fingers you grew up eating

the roommate was craving soup and the Thunder Canyon Brewery Pork Green Chili was the perfect twist on a classic

sweet yet citrusy mandarin oranges and velvety goat cheese {which I chose to swap for the Bleu Cheese} on the Scottsdale salad were a refreshing pair along with my cold Deep Canyon Ale..best part of this salad were the giant sugar glazed walnut pieces!

we all know where Brittany and I will be on Sundays…
