The sound created by Kim and Jarod Weldin of Tape Waves perfectly aligns with the images crafted by their name. Their vocals are breathy, breezy, refreshing and substantially trippy. Their instrumentals juxtapose their vocals — sharp, retro, funky and “tape-like.” They create dreamy music with a summery pop backbone, and while their soothing beats and strums are ideal for “solo” listening, their wide array of retro material and jovial energy make them equally great live. Keep an eye out for Tape Waves at Cake Shop on 5/29 and at NYC Pop Fest in the next couple weeks!
