tamaryn 550x364 TAMARYNS BEAUTIFULLY EERIE SECOND LP [STREAM]

Still exuding the same dark, charged atmosphere of their debut LP, The Waves, Tamaryn’s (@tamarynmusic) new album Tender New Signs has taken the duo’s previous sonic structure and stretched it further, enhancing the dramatic vocals, bending notes till they break and relying heavily on the vastness of their echo-driven effects. While some lower-tempo tracks do seem to drag on unnecessarily, songs such as “Prizma”, with its transportive, catchy guitar and quick beat, certainly make up for the delay. All the tracks, though, sport the same eerie  hue — the songs seem like West Coast shoegaze, but no beach scenes are conjured.

Tender New Signs marks Tamaryn’s continued collaboration with producter and friend Rex John Shelverton. Similar to The Waves, Shelverton and Tamaryn self-produced the album, relying on each other for inspiration. This tact seems to have worked well, so be sure to pick up the record and catch Tamaryn out on tour!
