Take Me Back, Ta-ta-take Me Back to the Way That I Was Before

By The Persephone Complex @hollycassell

Number One - Trying to make my nail art a bit cooler. Wearing this design just reminds me of my childhood. Along with smileys, incense, The Spice Girls and inflatable furniture, it was pretty unavoidable throughout my experience of the 90’s. I wish I’d known how to do this when I was still young enough to get away with wearing a bindi and some Buffalo boots…oh the nostalgia.
037_thumb1 Number Two - Trying to re-read things. I’ve started on The Rainbow again, but as much as I love it, it’s so PROFOUND that I’m not sure I can take it right now. Every time I look into it my stream of consciousness turns into this – oh my god death and life and death and life and love and oh my god everything is just so SAD and meaningful and life is so short and do any of us really know each other AT ALL oh my god why can’t we ever say how we feel there is just so much SPACE between us all oh my god it’s so beautiful I wish I lived on a farm that would be so nice but seriously LIFE IS JUST SO TRAGIC AND BEAUTIFUL why why why why why why why why WHY??????????????
And to be honest I’m just too sensitive for that right now.

And last but not least – Haim. I’ve had them on my radar for ages, but only got around to checking them out on YouTube a couple of days ago. I’ve got mad love for them and I had to share. I’m crushing really hard. Just look at their hair. LOOK AT IT!!! And their clothes…I mean, what? It’s like Patti Smith and Francois Hardy had three hipster model daughters and they all decided to make a soundtrack to the best 80’s movie ever. And they’re just so NONCHALENT. Their denim says ‘I’m seriously hot shit, and I couldn’t give a fuck if you notice or not, because my boyfriend’s a pro-skateboarder and my girlfriend’s a DJ and we all get along just fine, so here’s my arse to watch as I walk away’.
I’m gonna go put a poster of them up on my wall now. Okay bye.
