The Brooklyn-Nashville connection is very strong these days. Here at The Wild Honey Pie, we follow music scenes as much as we do individual bands, and nothing embodies the modern sound of Nashville better than our folky friends KOPECKY. When this lovely crew came through NYC earlier this month, we grabbed the last tickets to their Mercury Lounge set. What we saw blew us away. The band touched on their older hits, but they also featured amazing new tunes from their just released LP Drug for the Modern Age via ATO Records.
Being the audacious worker bees that we are, we approached them after the show and asked the band to come through to our offices in Greenpoint for a photo shoot. That morning happened to be a bit rainier and overcast than expected, so the band hit a bit of traffic on the BQE. To accompany this photo shoot, we asked them to curate a set of their favorite music to listen to in traffic. The results are magical. Tune in to the playlist while exploring our photos from a walk along the East River.
