T'was The Night Before My Birthday...

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox
T'was the night before my Birthday and all through the house, not a hair left un-plucked, nor a limb left untanned. Not a nail left unpolished or a dress left in my wardrobe... Yup, It's my birthday tomorrow, so I'm heading out to dinner with the girls and for a few cocktails (there might be some shots of Sambuca thrown in too..) Which can mean only one thing... The pampering starts tonight!
T'was The Night Before My Birthday...
There's a few things I like to do on a pamper night so I'm going to talk you through it all and might even throw in a mini review of the products I use too.
STEP ONE - HAIR MASK
I always like to whack a hair mask into my hair on the night before I do something special. There's just no nicer feeling than soft clean hair.(which doesn't mean random strangers can touch my hair. Yes, it happens)
I love the Aussie 3 minute mask, or this Sacha Juan one. Neither are designed to be left in overnight so I like to rinse them out after a couple of hours.
STEP TWO - TAN
I am a tanning novice. I just dislike tanning but I can't deny that I look and feel so much better when I have a tan so for special occasions I don the Cocoa Brown which always gives me the PERFECT color of tan - not orange, not too dark but still noticeable and is a dream to apply. In preparation I shaved my legs and all worldly places last night and exfoliated my skin to within an inch of peeling my skin off to avoid streaks but to be fair I don't seem to get that with the Cocoa Brown tan.
STEP THREE - EYEBROWS
I use a set of Eylure eyebrow tweezers to get rid of a few stray hairs and use the Eylure brow nourishing oil to make them feel luxurious.
STEP FOUR - FACE MASK
I rarely use face masks because I'm a lazy low key kinda lass but when I do use one, I love this one from Liz Earle. I love it because it only needs to stay on your skin for a minute or two before rinsing it off to make a difference. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and gives the perfect surface for moisturizer.
STEP FIVE - NAILS
I mean toe nails! I am actually going to cheat and wear some false nails from Kiss tomorrow night so I just need to focus on toes. I think I might go for a red polish from Barry M...
STEP SIX - SHOWER
It's time to rinse off the fake tan and prepare to be biscuit-fied for the next few hours. Fear not, for the St Tropez after tan moisturizer is lush!
STEP SEVEN - RELAX
I'm going to chill out and lie on my bed with my dressing gown on and some cucumbers on my eyes while I listen to some of my favorite music before heading downstairs to make myself a hot chocolate (Mint Options, Baileys & Marshmallows... Mmm...)
Now, I plan to watch television and eat the rest of the mini marshmallows from the pack... yum!
How do you pamper yourself before a night out or special occasion?
