Sylvan Esso Released a Sexy New Track ‘coffee’ [stream]

We adore everything Sylvan Esso (Nick Sanborn of Megafaun/Amelia Meath of Mountain Man) are doing, and their freshly released track “Coffee” is no exception. Of the three tracks they’ve released thus far, “Coffee” is the slowest burning jam yet, featuring the same dazzling adjacency of crisp electronic elements and soft warm vocals. One of the most notable traits of their sound is their attention to detail, and “Coffee” serves as a perfect illustration of that fact with it’s pulsing undertones, scattered blips, careful layering and masterfully timed drops. The texturing pushes the sound just past the point of minimalism, yet leaves it simple enough to allow us to wrap ourselves around each of the elements as they emerge. It’s already past amazing when Meath drops nonchalant repetitions of “my baby does the hanky panky” just after the sparse bridge and build, and Sanborn briefly echoes. “Coffee” is one half of a new Sylvan Esso 12″ due out March 25, and we obviously can hardly stand the wait.
