Shopping for women’s swimsuits is probably the most frustrating and stressful things for ladies to do. That’s why we’ve been reaching out to bloggers, stylists and fashionistas who we like to describe as fashion leaders. And learn from the best and brightest in the business.

This week we’ve got Taylor Morgan of Taylor Morgan Design. Taylor is a New York City fashion blogger, stylist and jewelry maker (she even dances). You can see some of her fantastic bracelets on Etsy. Her style combines simple and modern elements to create a chic and original medley of fashion. Black and white clothing often make an appearance in her outfit style posts. She’s an up and coming blogger who’s perfect to follow.

1) What drew you to the world of fashion?

Simply put, I just love beautiful things and I love creating beautiful things through my designs!

2) How do keep up with the latest fashion trends?

It's easy to see the fabulous influence the New York City fashion scene has had on Taylor

I am not much of a trend follower to be honest. But I pick most trends up from the streets in the city. When I do like a trend, I tend not to spend a lot of money on it because as we all know trends come and go.

3) What do you think about apparel shopping online vs. shopping in an actual store?

There are pros and cons to both!! I love shopping in person for obvious reasons, you can see it, touch it, try it on and instantly take it home if you like it. But online shopping is wonderful too! I shop online a lot more now that I live in the city because it is just easier. Shopping in the city is great but it is very exhausting when you don’t have a car and are walking all over the city. It is not as easy as going to a large mall.

4) What advice can you give online swimwear shoppers?

Buy a cut that you know works for your body because you can’t try it on! Unless you use an online swimsuit store that has free shipping and free returns.

5) How many swimsuits do you own?

A lot!! I have a weakness for cute swim suits! I also grew up in AZ (the land of swimming pools) so I have collected a lot of swimsuits over the years! And every summer I feel like I need new suits for the season.

6) How often do you get a new swimsuit? And how often do you recommend getting new pieces?

Like I said above, I am a sucker for a cute suit. I buy suits year round. I think everyone should get a new suit at least once a year. But if I am being totally honest, you should get a new one for every vacation you go on that requires a suit

7) How much do you typically spend on a new swimsuit?

I don’t like to spend to much money on a swimsuit. Especially since I like to get new ones often. It also depends if it’s a two piece or one piece. But I never spend over $60, and even that is pushing it.

8) What bathing suit styles and colors will be in this summer?

I don’t keep up on swim trends so I can’t say.

9) What is your favorite style of bathing suit?

I like suits with more style than a basic triangle top two piece. I love retro looking suits that are still modern though.

10) How do you think body type dictates what kind of swim apparel to get?

I think it is everything. You want to get a suit that you feel comfortable wearing for your body type so that you feel confident.

11) Who is your favorite swimwear designer and why?

To be honest I don’t have one, I own suits from many different designers, just depends on the individual suit.

12) What are your favorite beach or poolside accessories?

Must have a hat for laying out!

13) Does where you are headed determine what swim outfit you would wear? Would beach wear be different from pool wear be different from resort/cruise wear? How would it change what you where?

Doesn’t change for me.

14) Many women and young girls often feel insecure when it comes to wearing a swimsuit. What advice do you have for them to strut their stuff and put on their swimwear with confidence?

First, people don’t care what you look like as much as you think so don’t worry so much. Find a suit with a good cut that makes you feel more comfortable. There are so many different styles and cuts in swimwear these days so try them all on and figure out what works for you! Also, getting a suit with a fun pattern or color that represents you will make you feel more confident! Have fun with it!
