Sweet Confessions

By Tanvi Rastogi @tanviidotcom

You know, I actually love sugar. As much as it is not good for me (or you), I do love it. Case in point, this! I like cakes, ice creams, pastries, and everything else that tastes divine thanks to the key ingredient - sugar! However, I am always trying to underplay my love for it (sugar), for the sake of people around me. I feel everyone already keeps harping about how they cannot resist the sugary-delights so feel the pressure to be the voice of reason in their life.

Although personally, I have tried to practice moderation and incorporate strenuous workout so that I can continue a healthy relationship with sugar, which not everyone else in my life (friends and family) have been successful at. But sometimes I feel I have been unfair to my self expression. I too want to express my love for sugar, else I come across as someone who never indulges (ask my husband he will tell you that I indulge ... and HOW!).

So I wanted to dedicate a whole post to do that. Here goes: I love sugar. I love it very much. But I know sometimes things (or people) you love can be harmful to you. So you practice caution. You learn to protect yourself from any thing (or people) will cause you irreversible damage. While the cellulite in my butt looks pretty darn irreversible right now, I am crossing my fingers that that is the only damage I have to deal with and that the moderate amount of sugar I have learned to consume will not be a cause for any life-threatening ailments. Amen!

Below are some pictures I took while 'visiting' Krispy Kreme. I the whole process is such a visual delight. I think I am going to get a doughnut this weekend for my weekly treat. :)
