Understanding and unfolding the vibrant power of Surya Namaskar(Sun_salutation) with
the Chanting of Mantras

The Sun is accountable for sustaining living beings and life on earth. Our ancient peers acknowledged the all-pervading presence of the Sun on the life of planet Earth and henceforth revered it, paying obeisance to its powerful impact.

Surya Namaskar(Sun Salutation) is an appreciation in motion and the manifestation of what’s offered to the Sun. It constitutes twelve yoga postures or asanas denoting Sun’s cycle running approximately twelve and a quarter years. If your system or mechanism gets invigorated, your cycle will be in total sync with the solar cycle.

Surya Namaskar with Mantras aids in creating this synchronization between your physical cycle and Sun. Chants called Sun Salutation Mantras, in other words, Surya Namaskar with Mantras, bring harmony in body, breath, and mind.

With the deepening of practice, the benefits are discernible to one and all. When chanted with sincere, heartfelt gratitude, these Surya Namaskar Mantras can take you to different, enhanced spiritual levels, altogether, bringing out your quest for soul-searching journeys and making you enlightened in the process.

For instance, ‘Om Bhaavne Namaha’ means ‘One who brings light’. When you recite and chant this mantra, you tend to feel a sense of deep gratitude to the Sun-ultimate source of energy, providing us with light and making life possible on the planet Earth.

‘Om Suryaya Namaha’ signifies “Dispeller of darkness’, in essence, denoting, that we worship the Sun for giving us light to sustain us on this planet.

Ways of Chanting Sun Salutation or Surya Namaskar with Mantras:

One can either chant Surya Namaskars Mantras verbally or in his/her mind. What matters the most is to chant them with a deep feeling of gratitude. The breathing technique is normal and easy. One must be aware of breathing whilst chanting the Mantras, which will help to take charge of the psyche. Do make sure to chant Surya Namaskar Mantras with appropriate intonations and pitches.

In the Sun Salutation sequence, one set constitutes two rounds-one round with the right leg and another round with the left leg. It’s ideal to practice twelve sets of Surya Namaskar with Mantras on regular basis.

But one can select whatever number suits him/her, chanting a mantra at every step of the twelve-step exercise. Alternatively, one can chant one mantra for the entire exercise, performing the exercise 12 times.

Benefits of Surya Namaskar Mantras:

  • More powerful, subtle, yet penetrating effects on mind, body, and soul.
  • Mantras extol varied qualities of the Sun, making you appreciate and recognize these virtuous and endearing qualities, as well as making you open yourself to assume them.
  • Unites mind, body, breathe, and soul, making asanas more profound, enriching, and fulfilling.
  • Opens up avenues for the mind and body to receive Sun’s omnipresent energy, transferring and assimilating it within ourselves.
  • Gives you a sense of power and oneness with a primary energy source.
