Surya Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Sun God. The temple depicts a chariot that is harnessed by seven white horses. In Hindu Mythology, Lord Surya or the Sun Lord is portrayed as riding a chariot harnessed by seven horses which personify seven colors of light which are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. The horses also represent the seven days of the week and are named after the seven meters of Sanskrit Prosody as Gayatri, Brihati, Ushnih, Jagati, Trishtubha, Anushtubha and Pankti.
Adjacent to the Surya temple is another temple dedicated to Goddess Durga. A new temple supposedly dedicated to the Lord Jagannath is also being constructed. It also has an artificial pond and a children's park.
