One of the books I most enjoyed reading and reviewing for the most recent issue of Shiny New Books was this excellent golden age crime story, one of the British Library's great new series of Crime Classics. A train marooned in the snow on Christmas Eve -- an old manor house with fires and lights burning, food in the larder, but nobody at home...
