Mohalla Assi is a Bollywood satirical comedy directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.
Starring Sunny Deol who will be seen opposite Sakshi Tanwar for the first time in the silver screen, the film also stars Ravi Kishen in a pivotal role.
Mohalla Assi is loosely based on popular Hindi novel Kashi Ka Assi by Dr. Kashi Nath Singh. Sunny Deol will be seen playing the role of a Sanskrit teacher and a religious priest on the ghats of Varanasi. The film deals with the commercialisation of the pilgrimage city, where fake religious babas and gurus thugs the foreign tourist. The film is set to release on 16th November 2018. Earlier on 30th June 2015, the release of the film was stayed by a Delhi court for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.
