I have a month left in Glasgow – crazy, I remember moving here nine months ago like it was just yesterday – and my list of things to see and do here before I leave seems to be getting longer and longer. I thought I’d share my ideas with you and see if there is anything I’m missing or anything that isn’t really worth visiting.

The Willow Tearooms – A Charles Rennie Mackintosh building which is still used today for its original purpose. You can get afternoon tea here or just wander around the gift shop. The building is just one of the famous Mackintosh buildings across the city.
Crabshakk – A seafood restaurant which has be recommend to me time and time again. Located in Finnieston – a quirky and fun area of Glasgow.
House For An Art Lover - Is another Mackintosh Building which is home to many art exhibitions and workshops. Many students from Glasgow School of Art have either studied here or exhibited here. The cafe and small gallery is open everyday while the house is only open when not hired out for a private function.
Botanic Gardens – Located not far from my house and beautiful spot to spend time outdoors this summer. Plenty of glasshouses and trees making these gardens feel beautiful at this time of year, there is also a tearooms within the grounds.
Glasgow School of Art - Made famously recently for the wrong reasons – a fire inside the art school – GSA has so much to offer still, and now is a very important time to support them. They offer many walking tours around the city however tours around the Mackintosh Building at GSA have been cancelled for the next year. You can also view exhibitions at the Reid Gallery. I would love to take the Glasgow Miracle city tour before I leave.
The Hunterian - Home to the museum, art gallery and Mackintosh House – one of the most important collections of his work. The art gallery has permanent and changing exhibitions with most free of charge. Located inside of Glasgow University.
Riverside Museum – This museum is dedicated to the history of Glasgow and Scotland with exhibitions covering a wide range of themes from transport to fashion. You will be taken on a trip back in time on this visit.
Kelvingrove Art Gallery - Credit
Kelvingrove Art Galley & Museum – This popular attraction is a must visit for Glasgow and I’m still yet to get there. The building alone it enough to impress anyone let alone the variety of exhibitions they have inside. There’s art, natural history and Mackintosh collections all housed inside here.
Gallery of Modern Art – Located in the city center this gallery shows off modern art from around Scotland with its latest exhibitions called ‘Generation’ – looking at modern art over the past 25 years. Housed in yet another stunning building.
Portrait Gallery in the City Chambers - Another stunning building inside and out located in the center of the city. You can take a tour around this wonderful building twice a day however despite being recommend the portrait gallery I cannot find any information online.
Pollock House – Is a grand building out in Pollock Country Park. It shows the house as life would have been in the 1930’s with the rich living upstairs and the servants living downstairs. The gardens are also pretty spectacular.
Merchant City – Despite having lived in Glasgow for nine months I have managed to miss this little gem out. Full of shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment I need to make my way here before I leave!
