Sunday Reflections – 17 July 2016 – Lazy Days

Happy Sunday! The sun is out; there is a lovely breeze. I have nothing on the calendar. It is turning out to be a pretty good day.

This week saw a return to a bit busier schedule. Holly started her summer dance classes. Thankfully, they are only two days a week, so we are experiencing the best of both worlds. I could definitely get used to not having to go anywhere in the evenings.

During one of those two dance days, I agreed to watch my friend’s nine-month-old son while she is teaching dance classes. If you follow me on Instagram, you will know who we are watching as she and I, plus her son, spend a lot of time together during dance season. Jim and I had a blast playing with him, but both of us were laughing at how non-kid-friendly our house has become. It came back to us quickly though. I love babysitting him and helping out my dear friend, but I have already told the kids that this only confirms that I am in no hurry to become a grandmother.

Connor is having quite the busy summer. I have mentioned cross-country practices, but this week, he finally got a job. He is working three days a week so far as a cook at a local pub. He has taken to it quite well and already exhibits a greater sense of responsibility than he did just a few months ago. It is just another reminder that my baby is poised to fly the coop soon.

On the site for the past few weeks, here is what I posted in case you missed them the first time:

Laundry is calling, and I probably should plan this week’s menu unless I want to hear complaints about how we have no food all week long. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and a relaxing Sunday. I’ll see you next week!
