I can't remember exactly when coffee and I entered our love affair. I believe it was college, but it seems silly to think there was ever I time when I wasn't drinking coffee. I mean, how do people live without it? I certainly can't.
Zach's the same way. He started drinking it when he joined the Army because let's be honest, ain't nobody got time to sleep when you're kicking butts and taking names.
We love our coffee and most of the time, I'm pretty sure that's the only way our household is functioning. And on Sunday mornings, if we get lucky and the kids sleep in, we have little coffee dates on the couch. I whip up a batch of fresh muffins and we sit and talk. Talk about grown up things and without being interrupted to wipe or feed a small human.
We recently tried the new McCafé coffee from Walmart and had our own little coffee bar :) There are 8 different flavors to choose from so we like to switch it up. It's available for brewing in your normal coffee pot or they can be brewed in your Keurig! (Not in a Keurig 2.0 though, so bust out the other one if you have it...)
It's super important for us to have these little coffee dates and spend time alone together. With all of the time he spends away and how young are children are, we sometimes have to play mom and dad more than we get to play husband and wife. This gives us time to catch up, watch our favorite TV show, and genuinely enjoy each other's company over our other love... coffee :)
It's always fun to switch up our breakfast food of choice or our coffee drinks. I'm a caramel lover and he's a mocha lover. There are a ton of fun recipes out there and if you need inspiration, check out the Cooking Up Good website. They have recipes, sweepstakes, loyalty programs, coupons and more! What's not to love?
And be sure to visit your local Walmart between 12/18-12/21 for a McCafé demo! How do you spend your Sunday mornings? Do you like to enjoy a cup of coffee with loved ones too? I would love to hear more ideas :)
