While the recipe will create two eight ounce jars, I chose to do one jar at a time. Also, you can either add the ingredients to a zip lock bag directly or add the ingredients to the jar depending on how you wish to use your sunburn relief product.
I decided to add the ingredients to the jar. Initially, I added one teaspoon of Calendula Flowers Powder to each of my two jars. Subsequently, I added one tablespoon of Aloe Vera Leaf Powder to each jar. Next, I added two tablespoons of baking soda, three tablespoons of Peppermint Leaf Cut & Sifted, and three tablespoons of Green Tea Leaves Cut & Sifted.
Then, I added three tablespoons of Lavender Flowers Whole Select to each jar. Next, I put in the 1/4 cup of oats. I finished off the layering with 1/4 cup of Chamomile Flowers German Whole. While the container looks very full, it should be easy to push down into the jar. Also, mixing the concoction later on will make it easier for the product to fit.
As a final touch we added the two grams of Vitamin E Oil and the five drops Lavender 40/42 Essential Oil per jar to the mixed ingredients. We chose to add all of our ingredients to a zip lock bag to achieve a thorough mix. Then we scooped the sunburn relief mix into a fillable tea bag. Although we added the vitamin E and essential oil to our entire product, you could wait until you use your bath tea to maintain an aesthetically appealing jar. Just make sure to scoop all of your layers and add a drop of vitamin E and essential oil before using.
We all know that this is the time of year for sunburns and those out enjoying the sun are bound to get one or two this year. While this is painful and uncomfortable, we at Natures Garden are hoping to make your sunburn experience a bit more tolerable. We hope that you enjoy this soothing bath tea and heal soon!
