In an attempt to try and recall some of our fun & memorable summer events, I will highlight a few of them here with a couple different posts. Nothing too wordy, mostly picture filled- things you may remember from Instagram. So please hang in there with me as I try and get thru the last oh... I don't know... 4 months!! My post today will mostly recount our fun had in June & July, minus the Holidays, which were likely spent at the lake. I'll save those for their own post. Let's get started, shall we! :)
Near the end of April my good friend, Jayme joined the 30 club! We (Melissa, Jamie & I) celebrated by treating her to dinner on the 14th of June.
After a little bit of a detour, we ended up at Donatelli's in White Bear Lake (YUM!) and she kindly refused us buying her a couple of drinks- but good thing, she is now 17+ weeks pregnant!
We had SUCH a fun night out with SO many great laughs!
Avrie and I can't wait to see Jayme again in a couple of weeks!
On July 14th I ran the Color Run, 5K with my sister and my best bloggin' buddy Dawn! It was a great day for it, cool temps and let me just say real quick, I am NOT a runner...
BUT I did run a little over half of it while Jamie and Dawn {the real runners} were stuck close. To say that the three of us had a fun time would be an understatement, it was an absolute BLAST!!
I can't wait to do it again! I have been out "running" once since the race, it felt good running... but I am just not motivated enough to run. However, I DID sign up for the Monster Dash 5K on Oct 26th- so I better get back into shape for that! Running while in costume, SO EXCITED!
Mid July on the 16th &17th Aaron, Avrie and I headed down for Minn Lake's annual town celebration of Festag! The only thing I have to say about this was that it was HOT... really really HOT!!
Despite the heat, Avrie enjoyed some of the kiddie rides, grandma Kay was so nice buying a TON of ride tickets for her. We kept her cool with a spray bottle & cold treats!
Tuesday night, for the street dance, we hung for some music, pork burgers & conversation. Wednesday night we stuck around for the parade. It was a little long for Avrie but she loved being able to snack on candy & hang out with some of her aunts, uncles, cousins and Grandma & Grandpa Sonnek down on the farm.
Even though I have been a really #badblogger this summer, I was still able to attend a blogger gathering at one of the MN Blogger's homes on July 19th. Becky was SO kind in having us over for snacks, drinks and games. Lo and I met up in Eagan to carpool and we ended up being a little bit late with the one lane 35W traffic slowing us up a bit.
Overall, it was a great night and Becky's little girl has no problem being the center of all of our attention. Thanks so much Becky! I hope we can all hang out again soon. I, personally, won't be able to make the Fall MN blogger meet up- it's a little too far from home for me. But, next time- I hope!
The very next night, 7.20, I hung out with my friend Erika for dinner with some of her girlfriends and a concert at the Target Center. She had an extra ticket and I was more than excited she invited me along to sing and dance along to some old jams via NKOTB/BoysIIMen/98Degrees on The Package Tour.
[isn't erika's jacket the GREATEST!]
I learned a couple of things this night, I am NOT made to wear heels for anytime period beyond an hour {SAD i know!} but my feet STILL hate me for doing that to them! I developed a little bit of a crush, that night...
I also learned that for every concert I attend from here on out, I MUST have Erika with me. She is an AWESOME seat hopper- we ended up so close by the time New Kids were on and it was such a fun night- well besides the beer bath down our backs! Thanks again for the invite, Erika!!
To wrap up a VERY busy July, my Mom, sister and I coordinated our schedules to be free for a night out with out cousin {my mom's niece} Kayla! This little smarty already found a job and has since moved to Iowa!
Mom wanted to treat her to a nice dinner out in honor of her college graduate from NDSU in May. On July 23rd we headed out to Downtown Stillwater and had a delicious meal with fantastic drinks at Marx Fusion Bistro.
[triple berry bellini, still drooling over this!]
While at Marx, we weren't AS lucky as my mom was the last time she visited this location- she was in company of Erika [of course!] when they got to see and "chat" with Josh Duhamel! To think, I should have been there! I became a quick fan of his after seeing him in the movie "Safe Haven" so cute! so tall! both of which my Mom confirmed.
[us girls, NOT including the creepy old man photo bomber]
So there you have it! July... in a nutshell. I hope to be back sooner rather than later to share some fun stuff that went on in August; The Washington County Fair w/ Grandpa Billy, Hannah's week here with us, a BFF sleepover,
