In both June and July we were celebrating summer by cooking up a TON of really really and I mean REALLY great summer foods; hot salads, cold salads, grilled foods & campfire inspired desserts.

I am blending the last two months of classes together, because let's face it- summer is buzzing by SO fast this year! Does anyone else agree with me on this!? June I was able to attend BOTH classes and had so much fun at each. July I was only able to attend one class and completely spaced out on getting a group photo- SO strange seeing that I have taken the group photo for the last FOUR years!! Oops!
[i spy kangy in both group photos, ha!]
The first June class was nice and small- which I tend to enjoy. You get the opportunity to cook one entire dish and have some great dinner conversation to follow. The second class in June was a packed house- which I also really love, as these classes are always so much fun and too much going on to keep track of- which usually means I just socialize and drink wine while everyone around me cooks. A handful of us are guilty of this behavior ;)

Some of my blogger girls came to the second June class- and I already have some of the regulars asking when "those funny girls" will be coming back!?
[SOON, I HOPE! ;)]
Because photo opportunities like the above are way too much fun! #AwkwardBloggerFriendPhotos
Another perk to summer cooking is being able to enjoy a meal outside on the deck! A meal outdoors is one true sign of summer. SO if the sun is shining and the bugs are sleeping- head out doors, pull up a patio chair and enjoy! Now... back to the art of cooking- for the month of June I loved ALL of the food, the grilled sandwiches were especially good! They are SO easy to change up based on what you are in the mood food. I have already recreated these a couple different ways while at home. One night was a BBQ chicken, bacon and cheddar sandwich and just tonight was spaghetti sandwiches- YUM!
[one of my at home foil sandwich re-creates. it was a hit!]
Avrie was along for both classes in June- she more than enjoyed the dessert. I would say she got more of it on her face than anything else, but anything messy is always a good sign of it being delicious! Am I right!?
While on the subject of dessert, let me share with you the two different s'mores ideas we devoured in both June & July. June we had s'more dip- kid tested and mother approved! For July we made chilled s'mores drops; which were a mixture of golden grahams, marshmallows and chocolate- so easy and SUPER good!
I am hoping that I haven't left out too many details while blending the last two months together. BUT hope to be caught up with life in general by the time the end of August comes around. It's already almost time for more class; the dates in August will be 8/13 or 8/21- I hope that you are able to join us at one of these classes! We will be using a Grilling Marinade, hope to see you there! MN Peeps, comment if you want to be included on the monthly event email list or facebook invites for RSVPs.
