As parents of the Groomit was our pleasure to do theRehearsal Dinner.
My darling daughter Ellis and I knewwe wanted to have a personal theme for the bride and groom so we came up with
Summer Camp of Lovebecause these two love birdsmet eight years ago atSummer Campwhen they were only 14!They have literally grown up together!
We had such fun pulling in Summer Camp Vibesfor the Rehearsal Dinner.
From Clip Boards for the menu cardsto even a Summer Camp inspired menucomplete with S'mores!
Once we found these amazing enamel cupsfrom Targetour ideas started racing!
We found these fun lanternsonline and ordered 16so we would be sure to have enoughfor the table for 30.
From there it waslayering and layering.
What really made the table spectacularbeing at a lake front venueto really bring in that Summer Camp Vibe!
The Lake House Hotelwas the site for the weekendwith the actual amazing weddingat a venue less than 10 minutes away.
One of the very best parts of working on the Rehearsal Dinnerwas getting to work on this evening of Celebrating Lovewith my gorgeous girl Ellis! We make an amazing teamand as her MommaI couldn't be prouder of her true skills in her chosen career of Event Planing! The amount of time and knowledge behind the sceneswas immense! But it all came together without a hitch!Thank you Ellis!
For some more Summer Camp Vibeand to make the theme even more personalwe did a big bulletin boardfull of their favorite pictures from their eight years together!
The venue we rented was The Boathouselocated on the hotel property. It came with an inside roomwonderful patioas well as a lawnwe set up for cocktail hourwith appetizers.
The success of the Rehearsal Dinnerwas definitely a team of threethat evening.
Jeff and I arrived at the venue with a carload of carefully packed binsfull of all our styling pieces!
I couldn't have been happier with my outfit for the evening!
It was the perfect hostess attireand it still spoke to the Nautical Summer Camp Vibestill with a big dose ofFunctional Glamour!
At the end of the night the navy wrap vest came offfor a more casual white on white lookthat I wore with flats.
It was a full day of prepfor our evening party.
It started off with a trip to the Flower Martfor some beauties!
I kept with an all white and green palettebecause I just wanted the flowers to be a quiet additonto the tablescapeand which I wanted to be the stars on the table. The flowers were to be an addedluxurious garnish.
My new denim jumpsuit from Anthropoligiewas the perfect working outfit.I know it will be a great piece for time in my design studio as well!
I made all of the arrangementsin our hotel roomand brought them down right before dinner.
We also spent the weekend at the Lake House Hotel. We got a suitewhich ended up a perfect place to host a Going Away Brunchfor the couple on Sunday morning after the wedding.
I did all of the Flowersin a way to have a casual, loose feelinglike they were plucked from a field for the evening.
For the Groom and his Menwe rented a two bedroom cottage that slept 6for the weekend.(the bride and her people did also).
I give credit for this wonderful idea to the bride's Momma!Having a base for the wedding partymade the wedding into a three day celebration! And wait to you see how gorgeous the wedding turned out to be!I have to say we all made a great teamin a marvelousWedding Weekend!
Having done our daughter's wedding I was very well versed inwhat to do to celebrate bridesmaidsbut this time around as a Mother of the GroomI wanted to make sure the men felt loved and appreciated as well!
So I didWelcome Bucketsfor each of the Groomsmen and of course the Groom as well!
I found out ahead of time from Hunterwhat everyone liked to drinkand shopped accordingly. We added hotel snacks to each bucket.
The Bride and Groom ordered Bolo ties for each of the Groomsmento wear for the wedding!
I found these fabulous Flight Ready Kitsalong with the Quote booksat the Queen Mary in Long Beach. They do so many wedding s therethey had a whole shop for Groomsmen!I know this brand is also available online.
I also added a personalThank You Cardto each one.As the momma of the GroomI have so much love and gratitudeto each on of the wonderful Groomsmenfor not only being there onHunter and Megan's Big Daybut for being great friends for so many years! They all warm my heart so much!
Made my day!
The living room in the Lake House Cottagewith a beautiful view!
Complete with a patio just made for celebrating!
Since the Rehearsal Dinnerwas Lakefrontwe arranged for the Wedding Party to have a cruise.
During Cocktail Hourwe had a Duffy Boatfor all the dinner guests to have a boat ride as well.A little sunset cruisewas a perfect addition to the evening!
Jeff and I were even able to have a cruiseand take the timeto be present and revel in the fact that our very beloved sonwas getting marriedthe next dayto the Love of his Life.
I was so happy and excitedfor the whole evening of celebratingsuch life moments.Even writing this posthas me wanting to relivethe entire weekend of Love!
I was so happy how the Tablescape came out.
I started the layering with textiles fromthe Hearth and Home Magnolia line at Target.
Next were paper placemats from the same line.
Next I mixed in differing placematsto the white plates.I wanted them different(but all the same size range)for a summer camp feeling.
The striped bistro napkins were simply tied.
Simple flowers in vintage bottles ran down the tablebetween the black lanterns.
The blue enamel cupswere used for water.
Each place setting hadchampagne glasses for toasting the couple.
Tying it all togetherour small clipboards with menu cardsand finished with placecardsfor each honored guest!
The fabulous couplewho have been honeymooning in Thailandsince the wedding!
Ellis toasting the loving couple!
It was an evening celebrating the love we all have forHunter and Megan!
