SugarRushed Weekly Top Ten - Week of March 30-April 5, 2014
Welcome to the first installment of a new feature on SugarRushed: Weekly Top Ten!  In this series, I'll share my views on the best in television and music for each week.  Note that shows with no new episodes for the current week will not be eligible for the main tv top ten, but will be noted in a separate section, "Out of Sight, but Never Out of Mind."  And of course, there will be a Top Ten TV Ships list for each week!  The Top Ten Songs list will be culled from current singles and other tracks from corresponding albums, with an extra note provided for those slightly older tracks that I am still playing constantly.
SugarRushed Weekly Top Ten - Week of March 30-April 5, 2014Top Ten Songs
1.  Cher Lloyd - "Sirens" - What a left-field about face from cutesy bubblegum to a deep, emotive ballad.  If the rest of her new album Sorry I'm Late sounds like this, it's well worth the wait.
2.  Kylie Minogue - "If Only" - The Kiss Me Once album is amazing, as I've mentioned.
3.  Ellie Goulding - "Beating Heart" - Typically stunning and epic.
4.  Icona Pop - "Just Another Night" - I love seeing the more contemplative, nuanced side of Icona Pop.
5.  Sky Ferreira - "You're Not the One" - Bittersweet grunge-pop at its best.
6.  Matt Cardle - "Hit My Heart" - All three of his albums are getting major play on my iPod, but this is the current single.
7.  Eliza Doolittle - "In Your Hands" - A scorching love song with a gorgeous vocal.
8.  Little Mix - "Towers" - Angsty girl group balladry, part 1
9.  The Saturdays - "You Don't Have the Right" - Angsty girl group balladry, part 2
10.  Shakira ft Rihanna - "Can't Remember to Forget You" - Cuteness personified.

Favorite older songs I still have in the mix: Zedd/Foxes - "Clarity"; Say Lou Lou - "Maybe You"; Vanbot - "Hold This Moment"; Demi Lovato - "In Case"; Ed Sheeran - "Kiss Me"; Zedd/Hayley Williams - "Stay the Night"

SugarRushed Weekly Top Ten - Week of March 30-April 5, 2014Top Ten TV Shows
1.  The Mentalist - "Violets" was one of the best episodes ever.  Season 6 is going out with a bang, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
2.  Arrow - The Slade saga continues!
3.  Revenge - A maelstrom of trouble stalks Emily as she's continually thwarted in her plans against the Graysons.  What will she do next?
4.  Reign - The current queen of WTF shows.  Reign does OMG moments so well, it puts Scandal to shame.  Last week's shocker wedding was no exception.
5.  The Tomorrow People - I hate that a show this excellent is hovering on the brink of cancellation.  But I'm enjoying the hell out of each new episode.
6.  Agents of SHIELD - The thrilling chase to catch the clairvoyant is getting ever more twisty.
7.  Bitten - Revelation upon revelation this week, not least of all Elena finding out why Clay really bit her.
8.  Person of Interest - Loving the team dynamic and one-liners lately!
9.  The Mindy Project - A triumphant return with hilarity and romantic moments aplenty.
10.  Elementary - I'm looking forward to seeing Holmes and Watson back after a few weeks off.
Out of sight, but never out of mind: The Originals, The Vampire Diaries, Revolution, Castle, Beauty and the Beast, Supernatural
SugarRushed Weekly Top Ten - Week of March 30-April 5, 2014Top Ten TV Ships
1.  Jisbon (Jane/Lisbon), The Mentalist (follow my continued analysis of that here)
2.  Emily/Jack, Revenge - Other characters are catching on...can Emily and Jack be far behind?
3.  Mash (Mary/Bash), Reign - This couple is in dire straits, but it's too epic for me to ever let go.
4.  Clay/Elena, Bitten - I loved finally seeing them come full circle this week.
5.  Olicity (Oliver/Felicity), Arrow - Not much action on this front lately, but hopefully there will be soon!
6.  Skye/Ward, Agents of SHIELD - These two had a huge episode this week.  I was shocked they didn't end up kissing yet.
7.  Danny/Mindy, The Mindy Project - So completely adorable!
8.  Captain Swan (Emma/Hook)  and RumBelle (Rumpel/Belle), Once Upon a Time - I'm not a fan of ending a love triangle by killing a character, so I have nothing to say about (spoiler)'s death leaving more room for Hook.  I'm loving the continued slow burn between Captain Swan, though.  As for RumBelle, they're having a hard time right now...hope to see them reunited soon!
9.  Stephen/Hillary and Jastrid (John/Astrid), The Tomorrow People - I'm sorry, Cara; these ships both screw you over!  But I can't help loving the sassy, opposites-attract vibe with Stephen and Hillary, as well as the quiet attraction between unexpected pairing John and Astrid (who need to have more interactions, ASAP).
10.  Rayna/Deacon, Juliette/Avery, and Scarlett/Liam, Nashville - I am not expecting to see Scarlett and Liam together again soon, but hopefully at some point.  Rayna and Deacon need to sit down and have a nice long talk about how they are soulmates.  Juliette and Avery are still doing really well, hooray!

Out of sight, but never out of mind:

-Charloe (Charlie/Monroe), Revolution
-Caskett (Castle/Beckett), Castle
-VinCat (Vincent/Catherine) and J.T.'nT (J.T./Tess), Beauty and the Beast
-Delena (Damon/Elena), The Vampire Diaries
-Klaroline (Klaus/Caroline), TVD/The Originals
-Hayley/Elijah, The Originals
