Missoula H.S. student sanctioned for bringing fake gun near school
KPAX: A Hellgate High School student was sanctioned after he was caught with a fake gun near the school.
The high school principal tell us the incident happened on Thursday, two hours after school got out.
A teacher looked out of the window, saw the student with a fake gun and called the school resource officer.
The officer went outside, took the fake gun and questioned the student. School officials say the incident is still under investigation and they can’t confirm if the gun was made in a shop class at school.
The school district say if the gun was made in class, they won’t release whether or not the teacher will be sanctioned in connection to this incident.
As Jane P noted on the post about a child suspended for merely talking about guns, you’ve got to wonder if this hypersensitive response to fake guns, pop tarts, a toy cap gun, wearing a t-shirt with a gun on it, confiscating cupcakes with Army men, or writing a report on guns is coming from the higher-ups, such as the Department of Education. Makes you wonder.
