Structural Details of the Glass Studios

By Emilydaisypage

Structures assignment

Loading details of the window, wall and floor systems in my hot glass studio.  The cast-in-situ flat concrete slabs have voids between them and the wall, for continuous views between floors, meaning steel beams are required for additional support. A cast-in-situ concrete wall system is used in conjunction with a copper roof, which is visible from within the building and compliments the iron ore pigment in the concrete inner walls.

Finals models.

Structural and sectional model of the final design of the glass making center.  The sectional model demonstrates how each of the floors have been carefully aligned to allow for maximum visibility and views to the sea (indicated by the thread)
