This smoothie bowl can totally be sipped on out of a cup as a regular smoothie, too - I've had it both ways. It's so creamy and fresh tasting and it really hits my sweet tooth!
What You'll Need:
Base:
- 2 ounces of chopped strawberries
- 1/2 of a frozen banana
- 1 teaspoon of acai powder (I use this one)
- 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (I use this one)
- 4 ounces of unsweetened vanilla almond milk (I use this one)
- 1-2 ounces of water
- Handful of ice
- Unsweetened, shredded coconut flakes
- Cacao nibs (I use this one)
- Chia seeds (I use this one)
- Nut butter of choice
Blend all of the ingredients together and top with your favorite toppings. If you want a thicker base, add more ice and less water. If you want a thinner base, add less ice and more water.
I don't know what you think, but I am strong believer in toppings being the best part of a smoothie bowl. I honestly plan my bowls around what toppings I have... #TeamToppings!
I've also been trying to incorporate more "superfoods" into my diet in efforts to help my skin and cognitive function. The superfoods in today's recipe are: acai powder, chia seeds, and cacao nibs. Healthy body, healthy mind, healthy spirit is my goal :)
Let me know if you try out this recipe! I'd also love to hear any smoothie recipes that you've been loving lately...I'm always up for trying new ones!
