I enjoyed this, by Teju Cole, on the way that cliches function as substitutes for thought. It's fun to try to add on to his Dictionary. Here's a couple of candidates:
LUMINOUS: apply it to any book or movie you like (or think you ought to like).
PARADIGM SHIFT: because by now even regular people know about "thinking outside the box."
