Steelers Working On No Huddle Offense Week 2 Of OTAs
It’s no secret that Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger loves the no-huddle offense and there have been hints that the Steelers offense may see a healthy dose of it in 2014. The Steelers continued that train of thought ,wasting no time introducing the no-huddle to the many new faces on the Steelers offense in week two of OTAs.
One of those new faces was wide receiver Lance Moore. Moore recently spoke on how those sessions went…
Lance Moore:“That last period here today we stayed on the field the whole time and got a bunch of different looks and a bunch of different plays, Ben is like a playbook on the field and he’s going to run pretty much everything we have out there and try to keep the defense off balance.”
Veteran Tight End Heath Miller also spoke after the no-huddle session …
Heath Miller: :”He’s (Roethlisberger) obviously very comfortable with the no-huddle and he always has been,” “Ben likes to make the calls with the balls in his hand and I think we can be good at it if we’re all on the same page. We’re getting a lot of good work in with it and I think we’re only going to continue to.”
Early in the off-season, Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger expressed a little bit of concern on how fast the new players on offense could pick up the Steelers’ no huddle, but after these OTA’s, Roethlisberger’s worries seemed to be eased a bit…
Ben Roethlisberger: “I think everybody’s doing a good job and that we can get back on track pretty quick,I think it’s something that we’ve realized what we can be and what we did last year, we’ll use it more. I don’t want to call it our base offense but I think you’ll see more of it so I think it was important for us to get in it early and often.”

In the no-huddle offense, Roethlisberger is the main play-caller and has had success with it in past seasons. He has lobbied for the Steelers to run even more of it now for years.
By the looks of these early spring practice sessions Ben Roethlisberger may finally be getting his wish.
