I am still trying to catch up after my vacation. Shortly after I returned, Mr. Karswell posted on his “and everything else too” blog about two sets of Three Stooges Three Dimensional Stickers. These reminded me of stickers in the permanent collection. I am fairly certain they are from the same unnamed Taiwanese manufacturer.
Quite honestly, I had been avoiding exhibiting them, because they are difficult to describe. There are long and short sets, either one set of stickers or two in the same package. There are different colors of cardboard hangers, and of course there are different sets of stickers. This leads to a large number of “variants”. I am not sure how many were actually produced, but there are currently ten in the permanent collection.
Today I begin my attempt at documenting the different variants. This particular set is “short”, one set of stickers in the package. The cardboard hanger is blue. This is the only set of stickers that depicts Cadbury, who seems to be dancing, or perhaps kicking a football. This leads me to refer to this set as the “short blue Cadbury variant”. Not perfect I know, but I have to start somewhere. My thanks to Mr. Karswell for inspiring today’s exhibit. Enjoy!
