On Sunday, April 3rd, I attended the Albany Toy Show. I was surprised at how many of the comic book show dealers were in attendance. While I don’t mind, I was a little upset because I did not bring my want list. I did find a very nice Casper item that I will feature once I figure out how to photograph it.
Yesterday, I attended the new Chase Con in Saratoga Springs. It was a lovely day, and it was nice to be in the convention center and not working (my wife and I were on the committee of the World Fantasy Convention, held there back in November). While the convention was very well run, it reminded me of the Puerto Rico Comic Con in that it was heavily biased toward a younger audience. There was a lot of cosplay, and many anime vendors. I did find a couple of old comic books from one of the vendors I skipped at the Albany Toy Show because I did not have my list, so it was not a total loss.
