London, ON is set to get loud this summer with HUGE new additions to the Start.ca Rocks The Park festival lineup. The Monday morning announcement of , Simple Plan, , and more for Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Harris Park, is an exciting one that brings massive hits and fan favourites to the stage.
On their own, blink-182 being added to the summer lineup is a big way to generate a buzz among music fans in The Forest City and beyond. Adding in multi-Platinum Canadians Simple Plan is a big-time bonus.
Related: Jack Johnson Announced as Headliner for Start.ca Rocks The Park 2020If 2k era punk vibes are your jam, this is an announcement that you should start fitting into your summer concert schedule. 2020 marks the middle point between 20th anniversaries for blink's Enema Of The State and Take Off Your Pants And Jacket albums that brought hits like What's My Age Again, All The Small Things, The Rock Show, and First Date. And if we were going to bet on something, it would be that the band will play all three of those songs.
We'd also bet that as we near the 20th anniversary of Simple Plans 2002 debut album, No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls we'll hear OG hits I'm Just A Kid, I'd Do Anything, and maybe even Perfect.
AND, long-time, big-time fans will remember that blink-182's Mark Hoppus was featured on I'd Do Anything when it was released as the band's second single in 2002. So, there's a chance that Rocks The Park will give fans that combo on July 16, 2020!
Add in grandson, the New Jersey-born, Toronto raised multi-genre alternative artist, and the Thursday night lineup for this year's festival in London really does start to take shape.
As the announcement says, there's more to come. So stay tuned for more additions to this lineup and more from the 2020 edition of Start.ca Rocks The Park.
