Starskin 7 Second Morning Mask
Anyone who has been reading this blog for awhile will know that I'm a big K-beauty enthusiast and I have a certain love for multi-function beauty products so of course the Starskin 7 Second Morning Mask appealed to me as soon as I heard about it. This 7-in-1 advanced skincare solution features a dual texture pad that works to massage, exfoliate and tone skin on one side, while the other side functions as a serum, moisturizer, leave-in mask and primer.

How to Use
After cleansing face, pat dry. Use the tweezers to take out a mask pad. Place two fingers inside the pocket and using circular motions, gently massage the beaded side onto the skin for seven seconds.
Flip the mask pad over and gently pat in the remaining concentrate for another seven seconds to enhance serum penetration and absorption. Do not rinse.
Packaging
The Starskin 7 Second Morning Mask is packaged in a heavyweight translucent plastic jar with a pink screw off top. Plastic tweezers are included in a compartment inside for hygienic dispensing. This isn't exactly travel friendly but one could easily place a couple of pads into a zip-loc bag for use on the go.

The Pads
These pads work through a dual phase method. The beaded side massages, exfoliates and tones, working to slough away dead skin cells while promoting circulation, leaving pores refined. It balances the complexion and visibly brightens skin for a radiant finish. Soaked with a potent array of skin boosting ingredients including niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate and adenosine (also known as ‘topical botox’), the cushion side of the pad works as a nourishing and protective serum that also provides a dose of lasting hydration while it visibly plumps the complexion, prepping the skin for makeup application. Each pad contains a slow-release formula that works as a leave on facial treatment, ensuring the skin receives continued nourishment throughout the day.
My Experience
Upon opening the 7-Second Morning Mask, I find that the pads are fully soaked within the container.  The tweezers are a little stiff to use but they are functional. The pads have a faint scent which was barely discernible to my nose anyway.  While the beaded side feels mildly exfoliating, it is quite gentle. As I work it around my face in circular motions as directed and I didn't realize how quickly 7 seconds goes by until I started using this product. I find that in this time I can't quite cover the area of my entire face which isn't huge I swear so I go over it again until I've done so. I think this may have doubled the amount of time. The process is quite relaxing and my skin feels soft after finishing the first side. The mask side has a cushiony feel in contrast and by the time I'm done working it around my face, it is lightly covered in the serum which has a cooling feel and a watery gel-like texture. I had to wait about a minute for it to fully dry down which in a way kind of defeats the purpose of the quick usage but I guess it does makes up for it since it allows me to skip a number of steps. I notice my skin looks very smooth and toned.
Because my skin is dry, I've tried this product with and without moisturizer. My skin has actually fared pretty well without an additional moisturizer but I find that I get even better results when I apply a layer of Glow Recipe Watermelon Pink Juice Moisturizer (for an extra antioxidant boost) onto my face before my makeup. On the days that I've used this product,  I've noticed that my skin just appears more radiant and supple. I made sure to use it last week when I attended an event with Maria Hatzistefanis, CEO/Founder of Rodial. I had a lovely conversation with Maria and she complimented my skin. That totally that made my week!
Anyway back to the Starskin 7 Second Morning Mask. I do like it. It's a terrific multi-tasker especially for all the fundamental steps in my skincare routine it combines. And it's also easy to use  and a convenient while being functional. It provides a visible all day effect and wears well under makeup. While this is all good, I wouldn't say this product is a must but it would be great if I'm pressed for time or want a little complexion boost ahead of a long day or a special event. This product definitely adds a little extra moisture to my skin which would be good for dry skin types. I'm not sure how it would work on oily skin. Starskin also has a full range of sheet masks for the face, eyes, lips, hands and feet that address a variety of concerns. I've tried a few of the Starskin facial sheet masks and they are excellent. The Starskin After Party Coconut Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Brightening Face Mask with Vitamin C is a favorite.
The Starskin 7 Second Morning Mask and Starskin products are sold online at Starskin.com, Barneys NY, Bloomingdales, Beauty Bay and Feel Unique.
