I’m so happy to finally share this unique comic I have been illustrating for the team at Visibility of Open Access Publications of Austrian Transition to Open Access 2 (AT2OA2):

I know, the topic is not the most catchy one, but I think it’s important that academics start to have more open conversations on how we evaluate research in the 21st century. The peer-review system is broken and we must find a better measure of success than the antiquate ‘impact factor’. I hope this comic may help demystify some of these concepts.
So please, have a read, especially if you’re a scientist (or an aspiring one). Try to publish Open Access and pay more attention to altmetrics. Here is the full report, if you want more specific advice.
PS: all published OA with a CC-BY license, of course!
