Intro
S&S; Review: NightSky
Game play - The game has two different difficulties, a normal or alternative mode. The Normal mode is designed for appeal to casual gamers, and features a helpful tutorial. This is recommended for most players, though you should try the Alternative mode on your second playthrough. Alternative mode features difficult gameplay, complicated puzzles, and minimal instructions. It's recommended for your second playthrough, or if you simply like a good challenge. The controls are simple, to move your sphere you swipe left and right. If you swipe left quickly, the sphere will move in that direction quickly. It is very psychics based with areas allowing you to swipe up to turn off gravity to figure out puzzles. Some sections of areas can be completed by just rolling your sphere across the ground. Others can be hard to figure out what it is you have to do. Some are easily to see what has to be done to complete an area, but it's hard to get there. NightSky can be a very challenging game at times. NightSky will attract you in many different ways. The background usually is some type of pretty sun set, but can differ to starry nights. Your sphere when hit off ledges sounds like a glass bottle. The music comes in at appropriate times soothing your ears with soft folk music. Throughout the game you will come across silhouettes of animals or monsters but cannot interact with them. There are a dozen areas including the credits with a plethora of levels to play. Each area has it's unique look and color.

Outro - NightSky is a very unique but simple game. I would not put it in the category of a time waster type game, rather one you may have a little time for. Patience is important throughout the game having to deal with it's difficulty. Al though the feeling of getting past a section that has frustrated you is very rewarding. This is by no means an impossible game, just one that can go from swiping through a level to taking maybe too much time to get past. As I mentioned that NightSky is a side swiping game, your hand will get tired from trying to move your sphere fast enough to get up a ledge. I have found this very annoying because it happens often. The look and sound can make up, but in today's day and age there is no excuse for a game not to look and sound good.
