GameInformer was the first to break the news as they received an email from Disney, it read, "After evaluating our position in the games market, we've decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company's risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. As a result of this change, we've had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles."
Many are wondering what this means for the companies titles. On the subject of Star Wars 1313, rumors have it that production of the game has ceased. As for Star Wars: First Assault, it is unclear what is or will happen to it.
Thankfully, though, Disney has said that they are still supporting and making Disney Infinity and all mobile games.
