“The world needs your help! Evil scientists worldwide have joined forces, forming a ‘League of Evil.’ The only super agent who can stop them is YOU!”

STORY S&S; Mobile Review: League of Evil   In League of Evil, you play as a badass cyborg secret agent sent on a mission to stop the cleverly named “League of Evil.” Complete with double jumping and wall crawling abilities, you have the pleasure of punching a near infinite amount of baddies in half in a beautifully nostalgic 16-bit environment. Sounds great right? Well it is!

CONTROLS         S&S; Mobile Review: League of EvilLeague of Evil’s control scheme is very simple control system, just as all platformers should be. Located in the bottom left of the screen is a pair of left and right facing arrows that controls your characters horizontal movement. On the bottom right of the screen, there are “A” and “B” buttons, used for punching and jumping. Developer Ravenous Games deserves massive praise for create such a fluid and responsive control system, which all iOS platformers should be compared to.

CORE GAMEPLAY AND PRESENTATION S&S; Mobile Review: League of Evil   League of Evil is presented as an amazingly challenging platformer akin to the SNES and Genesis Era. The game contains 160 levels of pure unbridled, pixel-smashing fun with 5 varying world locations. In each beautifully designed level, you are tasked with guiding your character around lasers, over spikes, and through waves of evil, gun toting henchmen until you reach the level’s evil scientist to whom you deliver and well earned pixel punch in the face! Also, as an extra challenge each level contains a secret briefcase, generally located in a very inconvenient location. League of Evil also offers a ranking system based off the amount of time it took to complete each specific level. Bolstered with a great, retro chiptune soundtrack, League of Evil easily stands with the best of the platforming genre. FINAL THOUGHTS         League of Evil is an amazingly challenging retro game with an beautiful art style and intuitive control scheme. The only problem, I encountered in the time with the game was a fairly irritating load time when restarting a level (which occurs very frequently.) Nonetheless, League of Evil is a great addition to the AppStore and one of my favorite mobile platformers!                                                                                   S&S Rating: 9.8/10                                                                                              @DrMrPHD
