Story: Spy Kids: Armageddon starts when world famous spies Terrence (Levi) and Nora (Rodriguez) keep their children Tony (Esterson) and Patty (Carganilla) away from their secret life. They have a code that can crack any code on the planet, however, when they get tricked, someone else gains access to the code.

When Tony and Patty sneak off to play the latest video game at midnight, the creator The King (Magnussen) steals the Armageddon code. This leads to the world being taken over by The King, who uses technology to lock people out of their lives. Tony and Patty must figure out how to stop The King from destroying everything people had worked for.

Verdict on Spy Kids: Armageddon

Spy Kids: Armageddon is an action-adventure following the Tango-Torrez family deal with the latest threat. However, when their code-cracking application gets stolen and put into the world an evil genius starts taking over. Now, the children of the family must step up to use their video game skills to defeat the villain.

In the latest reboot of the Spy Kids franchise, we get a new family in the same situation. The parents get taken by a supervillain and now the children must adapt to the spy life to save them and the world. While this offers up the same sort of wild adventure and wacky gadgets.

The young stars Connor Esterson and Everly Carganilla are great and continue the legacy of the young spies. However, Zachary Levi and Gina Rodriguez lack the spark Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino brought the original. This does end up becoming fun, even if the villain seems to have a good motivation that would improve the world.

Where to Watch: Spy Kids: Armageddon is available on Netflix now.

Final ThoughtsSpy Kids: Armageddon is a fun family adventure.
