You love your booties. This past autumn and winter you lived in them. Now that the warm weather is here, what do you do? What replaces these booties you loved so much? Certainly, warm weather is a great time to bring out the flats and sandals, but you want more options, like springtime booties.
Peep toe booties are definitely nothing new. However, I feel it has taken a few seasons to get them right. This year I am finding these springtime booties styles to be much more palatable, and given how versatile they can be for the warm weather, I thought I'd give you some ideas on how to wear them.

Many of my clients work in a business casual work environment. When I was working on this post, one particular client came to mind. She asked me what was going wear in place of the cold weather booties that she loved so much. I like the way certain styles, like this pair from Vince Camuto, works with dresses. I styled them with this chic work dress from Reiss and finished the outfit with a pop of green with this necklace from Stella & Dot, a gold bracelet from Banana Republic and cognac bag from Rebecca Minkoff.

Some springtime booties are more like shooties, like this pair from Bella Vita. For this chic look, I styled them with skinny pants from J. Crew, a sleeveless tunic sweater from White House Black Market, that I wrapped with a belt, also from WHBM. The outfit was finished with a tan bag from Sole Society and statement earrings from Julie Vos. I chose tan booties with this look for two reasons. First, tan and black are always elegant together and, second, with the ankle showing the shoes matching closer to the skin will be more flattering than having a strip of ankle skin showing between ankle pants and black shoes.

For casual, I styled this flat, cognac pair of springtime booties from Anthropologie with a pair of boyfriend jeans, an easy white short sleeve button down top that I accessorized with a scarf from Urban Originals, blue stud earrings from Max & Chloe, multicolored bracelet from LOFT and yellow backpack from Coach.

While I am partial to booties in shades of tan because it is likely you'll be showing your skin, black springtime booties can work too. If you are going to wear them with skirts and dresses, just make sure you have nice legs. Between the dark shade of the booties along with the ankle straps, you risk making your legs look short and heavy.
In the outfit above, I styled these black wedge booties from Via Spiga with a printed pencil skirt from Boden, tan tank from Theory and cardigan from Ted Baker. The outfit is finished with a black statement necklace from Bauble Bar and the same tan bag that I used in a previous look.

If springtime booties have too much coverage for your liking, what you will be seeing in stores are very strappy sandals with block heels that almost seem like a hybrid between sandals and booties, like this pair from Treasure & Bond. In this look, I styled these sandals with these poplin wide leg cropped pants from Theory, a striped tee from Madewell, blue wrap scarf from Nordstrom and finished the outfit with gold double hoop earrings from Ann Taylor, feather cuff bracelet from Lord & Taylor and the cognac bag I used in the first look.
Springtime booties are definitely shoes to consider during the transitional months that will also make it easier to bid farewell to your cold weather styles that you loved so much.
