With spring in the airI'm excited to get back to my gardenso I'm always on the look out for some garden inspirationas well as taking a look at what's working in my gardenand changes I want to make.
I was so tickled with the sweet plant markers I saw atTrue Foods in Newport Beach.A clothes pin attached to a small stakemakes for the freshest versionof a plant marker.
I always enjoy the entry into True Foods with their bins full of herbs. You can see more of True Foods in my post HERE.
Back in my gardenI am loving the succulents I planted in pots last spring. They are growing into the most beautiful arrangementsandwith so little care!
My courtyard wall is lined with potted plantsnot only are they beautifulbut they help create a secluded ambiance within the garden walls.
Last year I started adding succulents into existing pots.I am most happy to report that they are doing beautifullyas ever evolving sculpture.
My dwarf olive is also thrivingbut alas one has been lostwhen I moved it inside for fall decorandforgot to water it regularly. Not all of my garden is as carefree as the lovely succulent additions.
My use of succulents has even made it to the front yard borderswhere I have sprinkled them in with the lavender and alyssum.
I have even tucked tiny succulents into my strawberry pots.I love how they provide some added texture, structure and coloralong with the lacy alyssum.I think of them as nice accessories to the strawberries.
On the porch I have even mixed succulents in with my spider plants and gerbers.
I find it so easy to pick up succulents that call out to mewhen I'm out.
I always seen to find the perfect homes for themmixing them in fresh new unexpected waysthat I would have never thought ofunless they were right before me.
Updating plantings much the same way accessories doto a neutral wardrobe. My whole garden has grown this wayover the past nineteen years. One idea building on anotherwith some seasons like last springspent editing out the old ideasto make room for the new ones.
My garden is alwaysa reflective life metaphoralways changingalways transitioning from one stage to anotherand like in the garden I'm always searching to make the very best of what I haveby adding a little new new styleto my life.
As always my friends
I wish you love and joyas you style your life
