Color blocking.  Isn't it all the rage?  I love the bright colors that around right now. And the fabulous color block shoes!?  LOVE them. Which is why I had to make some for myself!  Wanna see!?

With some old shoes and some spray paint, I created some DIY color block shoes.
I started with these shoes.   I've had them for a probably a year.  And I wore them once. Not because I didn't like them...

Because after the first time wearing them, this happened:

Brutal!
They were the perfect candidates for my color block shoes. So I got together my spray paint (yellow!) and some painters tape.

First, tape off where you want the color to end.

I also taped the sole so it wouldn't look silly.

I used a garbage bag (you could use newspaper, I just didn't have any at the time) and taped it up to the existing tape mark.  Be sure you tuck the bag/paper all the way around the taped edges and be sure your tape is down on all your areas.

I primed them first.

Then painted on my yellow.  I only used one coat since they covered so well.

And voila!!
